Personally, I think you should really look at buying second hand - you can do really well - the key is to make sure they're in good condition. Tannoy makes some nice speakers as well - The Eaton is particularly good and IMO much better than the KEF. My speakers LtoR - Audio Note AX Two, KEF LS-50 and Audio Note E/Lx - with Line Magnetic 219IA integrated amp sitting on hockey pucks. In contrast though female vocals are more enjoyable on the paradigms, but again i primarily listen to instrumental music.Īudio Note K/SPe on the left (8 inch woofer) - new retail ~$5,000 US and AX Two on the right $1,000 US. the Q150's seem to sound more natural where the paradigms can sound a bit artificial or tizzy in comparison.

The KEF's make it sound like the classical guitar is right there in the room with you, they dont have the same air up top but also have sparkle and with instruments. In contrast i have a the paradigm 6000f's towers in the theatre, yes towers i know but i also compared KEF to the paradigm monitor SE Atoms and i found that they have a nice air and sparkle up top but don't have the same weight and presence for wood instruments. Just a thought if you're only listening to primarily instrumental music, would the LS50's be the first speaker that comes to mind? I think the Q150's handle classical guitars and wood instruments really well, its pretty convincing. Click to expand. Thanks never heard of it but ill check it out, maybe they will have some LS50's down the road.
